Tohoku Region
The Tohoku Region is located in the northeastern part of Honshu, the main island of Japan. It consists of six prefectures: Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima. Known for its beautiful landscapes, Tohoku features mountains, rivers, and coastlines, making it a popular destination for nature lovers.
Tohoku is also rich in cultural heritage, with numerous traditional festivals and historical sites. The region is famous for its delicious local cuisine, including dishes like gyutan (grilled beef tongue) and kiritanpo (rice stick). Additionally, Tohoku is known for its hot springs, or onsen, attracting visitors year-round.
