Tigray Conflict
The Tigray Conflict began in November 2020 in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. It involved the federal government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which had been the dominant political party in Ethiopia for nearly three decades. The conflict arose from political tensions, ethnic divisions, and disputes over power and resources.
The fighting led to a humanitarian crisis, with millions of people displaced and in need of assistance. Reports of human rights abuses, including violence against civilians, emerged from the region. In November 2022, a peace agreement was signed, aiming to end hostilities and facilitate humanitarian aid.
