Tibial Arteries
The tibial arteries are two major blood vessels in the lower leg, known as the anterior tibial artery and the posterior tibial artery. They branch off from the popliteal artery, which is located behind the knee. These arteries supply oxygen-rich blood to the muscles and tissues of the lower leg and foot.
The anterior tibial artery runs along the front of the leg, while the posterior tibial artery travels along the back. Both arteries play a crucial role in maintaining proper circulation, ensuring that the lower extremities receive the necessary nutrients and oxygen for healthy function.
