Third Anglo-Burmese War
The Third Anglo-Burmese War took place from 1885 to 1887 between the British Empire and the Kingdom of Burma. It was primarily driven by British interests in expanding their control over Burma, which was seen as strategically important for trade and military purposes. The war resulted in the swift defeat of the Burmese forces and the annexation of Burma into British India.
Following the war, the British established direct control over Burma, leading to significant political and social changes. The annexation marked the end of the Konbaung Dynasty and the beginning of a period of colonial rule that would last until World War II.
