Therese of Lisieux
Therese of Lisieux, also known as the "Little Flower," was a French nun born on January 2, 1873. She joined the Carmelite convent in Lisieux at a young age and became known for her simple yet profound spirituality. Therese emphasized the importance of love and trust in God, advocating for a "little way" of spiritual childhood, which encourages humility and reliance on divine grace.
She passed away on September 30, 1897, at the age of 24, after a long battle with tuberculosis. Despite her short life, Therese's writings, particularly her autobiography titled Story of a Soul, have inspired many and led to her canonization as a saint in 1925.
