The Leaves
The leaves are the green, flat structures that grow on the branches of trees and plants. They play a crucial role in photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert sunlight into energy. Leaves contain chlorophyll, which gives them their green color and helps absorb light.
In addition to photosynthesis, leaves also help regulate water loss through tiny openings called stomata. They come in various shapes and sizes, depending on the type of plant. Some common types of leaves include broadleaf, needle, and scale leaves, each adapted to their specific environment and function.
