The Death of Caesar
The Death of Julius Caesar occurred on March 15, 44 BCE, in the Theater of Pompey in Rome. A group of senators, fearing that Caesar was becoming too powerful and threatening the Republic, conspired against him. They believed that by assassinating him, they could restore the traditional republican government.
On the day of the assassination, Caesar was surrounded by the conspirators, including Brutus and Cassius. Despite warnings, he was attacked and stabbed multiple times. His death marked a significant turning point in Roman history, leading to a series of civil wars and the eventual rise of the Roman Empire.
