The Black Mafia Family
The Black Mafia Family, often abbreviated as BMF, is a drug trafficking and money laundering organization that originated in the late 1980s in Detroit. Founded by brothers Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, the group became known for its large-scale distribution of cocaine across the United States. BMF was also involved in the music industry, promoting artists and creating a brand that extended beyond illegal activities.
The organization gained notoriety for its lavish lifestyle, which included expensive cars, luxury homes, and high-profile parties. In 2005, law enforcement agencies launched a major crackdown on BMF, leading to the arrest of many members, including the Flenory brothers. In 2008, both were sentenced to lengthy prison terms, significantly impacting the group's operations and influence.
