The Thalmor are the ruling faction of the Aldmeri Dominion, a powerful political and military alliance in the Elder Scrolls universe. They are primarily composed of the High Elves, or Altmer, and seek to establish their dominance over the continent of Tamriel. The Thalmor are known for their strict adherence to elven superiority and their desire to eliminate the influence of humans and other races. In the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the Thalmor play a significant role in the ongoing conflict between the Imperial Legion and the Stormcloaks. They are responsible for the White-Gold Concordat, a treaty that ended the Great War but imposed harsh terms on the Empire, including the banning of the worship of the god Talos.
