Terezin
Terezin is a former military fortress located in the Czech Republic, built in the late 18th century. It served as a garrison town and later became known for its use during World War II as a concentration camp for Jewish people. The camp was a transit point for many who were ultimately sent to extermination camps.
Today, Terezin is a memorial and museum that educates visitors about the Holocaust and the experiences of those who were imprisoned there. The site includes a small fortress, a ghetto, and various exhibitions that honor the memory of the victims and promote awareness of the atrocities committed during the war.
