Theresienstadt
Theresienstadt was a concentration camp established by the Nazis during World War II, located in what is now the Czech Republic. It was initially designed as a ghetto for Jewish people, where they were subjected to harsh living conditions. The camp was also used as a propaganda tool to deceive the international community about the treatment of Jews.
Despite its facade of a "model ghetto," life in Theresienstadt was marked by overcrowding, starvation, and forced labor. Many residents were eventually deported to extermination camps, leading to the deaths of thousands. The camp is now a memorial site, honoring the victims of the Holocaust.
