Temple of Diana
The Temple of Diana was an ancient temple located in Ephesus, which is in modern-day Turkey. It was dedicated to the goddess Diana, known as Artemis in Greek mythology. The temple was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, celebrated for its grand size and intricate sculptures. Construction began around 550 BCE and was completed in 330 BCE.
The temple served as a major religious center and attracted many pilgrims. It was built in a classical style, featuring 127 columns, each standing 18 meters tall. The Temple of Diana was destroyed and rebuilt several times, with its final destruction occurring in 262 CE.
