Telperion is a fictional character from J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, specifically featured in the mythology of Middle-earth. He is one of the two great trees of Valinor, known as the Silver Tree, which illuminated the world before the creation of the Sun and Moon. Telperion, along with his counterpart Laurelin, produced light that was soft and silvery, creating a serene atmosphere in the realm of the Valar. The trees were eventually destroyed by the dark being Melkor, leading to significant changes in the world and the eventual rise of the Sun and Moon.
