Tanagers
Tanagers are colorful birds belonging to the family Thraupidae, primarily found in the Americas. They are known for their vibrant plumage, which can include shades of red, yellow, blue, and green. These birds typically inhabit forests, woodlands, and shrubby areas, where they feed on fruits, seeds, and insects.
There are over 240 species of tanagers, with the most well-known being the Scarlet Tanager and the Blue-gray Tanager. They are often seen in pairs or small groups and are known for their melodious songs. Tanagers play an important role in their ecosystems by helping to disperse seeds and pollinate plants.
