Scarlet Tanager
The Scarlet Tanager is a vibrant songbird found primarily in the eastern United States and parts of Canada. Males are easily recognized by their bright red plumage and black wings, while females are yellowish-green with darker wings. They typically inhabit deciduous forests and are known for their distinctive, melodic songs.
These birds are migratory, traveling to Central and South America for the winter. They primarily feed on insects and fruits, playing a role in seed dispersal. The Scarlet Tanager is often seen during the breeding season, where they build nests in trees and raise their young.
