Tamar Gas Field
The Tamar Gas Field is a natural gas field located off the coast of Israel. Discovered in 2009, it is one of the largest gas reserves in the eastern Mediterranean, with an estimated 280 billion cubic meters of gas. The field plays a crucial role in Israel's energy supply, reducing dependence on imported fuels.
Production from the Tamar Gas Field began in 2013, and it has since contributed significantly to the country's electricity generation and industrial needs. The gas extracted from Tamar is transported through pipelines to various facilities, supporting both domestic consumption and potential export opportunities in the region.
