Talysh Language
The Talysh language is a member of the Northwest Iranian languages, primarily spoken by the Talysh people in the regions of Azerbaijan and Iran. It has two main dialects: Northern Talysh and Southern Talysh, which differ slightly in pronunciation and vocabulary.
Talysh is written using the Perso-Arabic script in Iran and the Latin alphabet in Azerbaijan. The language has a rich oral tradition, with folklore and poetry being significant aspects of Talysh culture. Despite its cultural importance, Talysh faces challenges due to the dominance of Azerbaijani and Persian in the region.
