Talyllyn Railway
The Talyllyn Railway is a narrow-gauge heritage railway located in Wales. It runs for approximately 7.25 miles between the towns of Tywyn and Nant Gwernol in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Originally built in the 1860s to transport slate from local quarries, the railway now serves as a popular tourist attraction, offering scenic rides through picturesque landscapes.
The railway is notable for being the first in the world to be preserved as a heritage line, with its first passenger service taking place in 1951. Today, the Talyllyn Railway operates steam and diesel locomotives, providing visitors with a glimpse into the history of railway transport in Wales.
