Takotsubo Syndrome
Takotsubo Syndrome, also known as "broken heart syndrome," is a temporary heart condition that can be triggered by extreme emotional or physical stress. It causes the heart's main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, to change shape, leading to symptoms similar to a heart attack, such as chest pain and shortness of breath.
This syndrome is often diagnosed through imaging tests and can affect anyone, but it is more common in women, particularly those over 50. Most patients recover fully within weeks, but it is essential to seek medical attention to rule out other serious heart conditions.
