Tabata
Tabata is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that consists of short bursts of intense exercise followed by brief rest periods. Typically, a Tabata session lasts four minutes, featuring eight rounds of 20 seconds of maximum effort followed by 10 seconds of rest. This format allows for a quick yet effective workout that can improve both aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
Originally developed by Japanese researcher Izumi Tabata in the 1990s, this training method was designed to enhance athletic performance. Tabata workouts can be adapted to various exercises, including sprinting, cycling, or bodyweight movements, making it accessible for different fitness levels and preferences.
