T-O Map
A T-O Map is a medieval world map that represents the known world in a simplistic way. The map is divided into three parts, with a "T" shape formed by a vertical line (representing the Mediterranean Sea) and a horizontal line (representing the Nile River). The three sections typically depict Europe, Asia, and Africa.
These maps were often circular, symbolizing the idea of the Earth, and were used primarily by scholars and navigators during the Middle Ages. T-O Maps reflect the limited geographical knowledge of the time and emphasize religious and cultural perspectives rather than precise cartography.
