Tōhoku
Tōhoku is a region located in the northeastern part of Honshu, the main island of Japan. It consists of six prefectures: Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima. Known for its beautiful landscapes, Tōhoku features mountains, rivers, and coastlines, making it a popular destination for nature lovers.
The region is also famous for its rich cultural heritage, including traditional festivals like the Sendai Tanabata Matsuri and local cuisine such as gyutan (grilled beef tongue) and kiritanpo (rice stick). Tōhoku is recognized for its resilience, especially after the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
