Syrian Kurds
The Syrian Kurds are an ethnic group primarily residing in northern Syria, particularly in regions like Rojava. They are part of the larger Kurdish population, which spans across several countries, including Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. The Syrian Kurds have their own distinct language, Kurdish, and culture, and they have sought greater autonomy and rights within Syria.
In recent years, the Syrian Kurds have played a significant role in the fight against ISIS and have established self-governing regions. Their political organization, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has gained international attention for its efforts in promoting stability and security in the region.
