Sutherland deer
The Sutherland deer, also known as the Sika deer, is a species native to East Asia but has been introduced to various regions, including parts of the United Kingdom. These deer are medium-sized, with males typically sporting antlers that can grow up to 90 centimeters long. Their coat is usually a reddish-brown color, with white spots that help them blend into their surroundings.
Sutherland deer are social animals, often found in small groups. They are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, leaves, and shrubs. Their adaptability to different habitats makes them resilient, but they can also pose challenges to local ecosystems when introduced to non-native areas.
