Red Deer
The Red Deer is a large species of deer native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. Males, known as stags, can weigh between 200 to 250 pounds and are recognized for their impressive antlers, which they shed and regrow annually. Females, called hinds, are smaller and typically weigh around 150 to 200 pounds.
Red deer inhabit forests, grasslands, and mountainous regions, often forming herds. They are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, leaves, and shrubs. During the mating season, known as the rut, stags engage in vocalizations and displays to attract females and establish dominance over other males.
