Suri Dynasty
The Suri Dynasty was a short-lived but significant dynasty in Indian history that ruled from 1540 to 1556. Founded by Sher Shah Suri, it emerged after the decline of the Mughal Empire and is known for its administrative reforms and military innovations. Sher Shah introduced the Rupiya, one of the first standardized silver coins, and improved infrastructure, including the famous Grand Trunk Road.
The dynasty's rule ended with the return of the Mughals under Akbar, who defeated the last Suri ruler, Adil Shah Suri. Despite its brief existence, the Suri Dynasty left a lasting impact on Indian governance and economy, influencing future rulers and administrations.
