Super Bowl XXII was the 22nd championship game of the National Football League (NFL), held on January 31, 1988, at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, California. The game featured the Washington Redskins against the Denver Broncos.
The Redskins won decisively with a score of 42-10, marking their second Super Bowl victory. Doug Williams, the quarterback for the Redskins, made history by becoming the first African American quarterback to win a Super Bowl and was named the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his outstanding performance.
