Sundanese script
The Sundanese script is a writing system used for the Sundanese language, primarily spoken in West Java, Indonesia. It is an abugida, meaning each character represents a consonant with an inherent vowel sound that can be modified with diacritics. The script has historical roots in the Brahmi script and has evolved over centuries.
This script consists of 47 basic characters, including vowels and consonants, and is written from left to right. Although it was widely used in the past, the Latin alphabet has become more common for writing Sundanese in modern times. However, efforts are being made to revive and promote the use of the Sundanese script.
