Summer Tanager
The Summer Tanager is a medium-sized songbird found in North America, particularly in the southeastern United States. It is known for its vibrant red plumage in males, while females are yellowish-green. These birds prefer open woodlands, parks, and gardens, where they can easily find insects and fruits, which make up their diet.
During the breeding season, Summer Tanagers are often heard singing their distinctive, sweet melodies. They migrate south to Central America for the winter, returning to their breeding grounds in late spring. Their unique coloration and cheerful songs make them a favorite among birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
