Stone Of Scone
The Stone of Scone, also known as the Stone of Destiny, is a historic symbol of Scottish monarchy. Traditionally, it was used in the coronation of Scottish kings, representing their right to rule. The stone is made of sandstone and is approximately 26 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 11 inches high.
In 1296, the stone was taken to England by King Edward I during his conquest of Scotland. It remained in Westminster Abbey until 1996 when it was returned to Scotland. Today, the stone is housed in Edinburgh Castle and is a significant cultural artifact.
