Sterling Morrison
Sterling Morrison was an American musician best known as the guitarist and co-founder of the influential rock band The Velvet Underground. Born on August 28, 1942, in Long Island, New York, he played a significant role in shaping the band's unique sound, which blended rock, avant-garde, and experimental music.
Morrison's work with The Velvet Underground helped pave the way for alternative and indie rock genres. After the band disbanded in the early 1970s, he pursued a career in academia and later returned to music, collaborating with various artists until his passing on August 30, 1995.
