Step Pyramid of Djoser
The Step Pyramid of Djoser is an ancient Egyptian structure located in the necropolis of Saqqara. Built during the 27th century BCE for Pharaoh Djoser, it is considered the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. The pyramid consists of six stacked layers, rising to a height of about 62 meters, and was designed by the architect Imhotep.
This pyramid served as a tomb and a symbol of the pharaoh's power. It marked a significant advancement in architectural design, transitioning from traditional mastabas to a more complex pyramid structure. The Step Pyramid is a key example of early Egyptian monumental architecture.
