State Capitols
State capitols are buildings where the legislative branch of a state government meets. Each U.S. state has its own capitol, which often serves as a symbol of the state's government and history. These buildings typically house the offices of the governor and other state officials, as well as chambers for the state legislature.
Capitols are usually located in the largest city of the state, but not always. Many state capitols, like the Texas State Capitol in Austin or the California State Capitol in Sacramento, are known for their unique architecture and historical significance, attracting visitors and tourists year-round.
