Starčevo Culture
The Starčevo Culture is an archaeological culture that existed in the central Balkans, particularly in present-day Serbia and Croatia, around 6200 to 4500 BCE. It is known for its early farming communities that practiced agriculture and animal husbandry. The people of this culture lived in semi-permanent settlements and constructed houses made of wood and clay.
Artifacts from the Starčevo Culture include pottery, tools, and figurines, which provide insights into their daily life and beliefs. The pottery is often decorated with geometric patterns, showcasing their artistic skills. This culture is considered a precursor to later cultures in the region, such as the Vinča Culture.
