Stanislaus I
Stanislaus I was a Polish king and later the Duke of Lorraine, born on October 20, 1677. He is best known for his reign in Poland from 1704 to 1709, during which he faced significant challenges, including opposition from Augustus II the Strong. His rule was marked by efforts to reform the Polish government and strengthen its economy, although he struggled to maintain power due to external pressures.
After being deposed in Poland, Stanislaus became the Duke of Lorraine in 1714, where he focused on improving the region's infrastructure and governance. He was known for his patronage of the arts and education, contributing to the cultural development of Lorraine. Stanislaus I passed away on February 23, 1766.
