St. Louis-San Francisco Railway
The St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, often called the Frisco, was a major American railroad that operated primarily in the central United States. Established in the late 19th century, it connected St. Louis, Missouri to San Francisco, California, facilitating trade and travel across several states. The railway played a significant role in the economic development of the regions it served.
The Frisco was known for its scenic routes and efficient service. It became part of the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1980, which marked the end of its independent operations. Today, remnants of the railway's history can still be seen in various communities along its former routes.
