Burlington Northern Railroad
Burlington Northern Railroad, often abbreviated as BNSF, is a major freight railroad in the United States. It was formed in 1970 through the merger of several railroads, including the Burlington Route and the Northern Pacific Railway. BNSF operates a vast network of rail lines, primarily in the western and central regions of the country, transporting goods such as coal, agricultural products, and intermodal containers.
In 1996, BNSF merged with the Santa Fe Railway, further expanding its reach and capabilities. Today, BNSF is one of the largest freight rail networks in North America, playing a crucial role in the transportation of goods across the continent.
