St. Laurence
St. Laurence, also known as Saint Lawrence, was a Christian martyr and one of the seven deacons of Rome. He is believed to have died around 258 AD during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Valerian. St. Laurence is often depicted with a gridiron, symbolizing his martyrdom by being roasted alive.
His feast day is celebrated on August 10th, and he is the patron saint of cooks, comedians, and the poor. Many churches and institutions are named in his honor, reflecting his significance in Christian history and the enduring legacy of his faith and service.
