St. Hedwig
St. Hedwig was a Polish princess born in 1174, known for her deep faith and commitment to helping the poor. She became the Duchess of Silesia after marrying Henry I the Bearded, and together they had seven children. St. Hedwig was dedicated to charitable works, founding several monasteries and promoting education.
She is venerated as the patron saint of Silesia and orphans, and her feast day is celebrated on October 16. St. Hedwig is often depicted wearing a crown and holding a model of a church, symbolizing her royal status and her devotion to God and community service.
