St. Aidan
St. Aidan was a 7th-century monk and missionary known for his role in spreading Christianity in Northumbria, England. He founded the monastery on Lindisfarne, an island off the northeast coast, which became a center for Christian learning and evangelism. Aidan was known for his gentle approach and dedication to the local people, often traveling to share the Christian faith.
He was appointed the first bishop of Lindisfarne and worked closely with King Oswald, who supported his missionary efforts.
