St. Cuthbert
St. Cuthbert was a 7th-century monk and bishop in Northumbria, England. He is best known for his role in spreading Christianity in the region and for his deep spirituality. Cuthbert became a hermit on the island of Lindisfarne, where he dedicated his life to prayer and contemplation.
After his death in 687 AD, Cuthbert was venerated as a saint, and his shrine became a major pilgrimage site. His life and miracles were recorded in the Vita Cuthberti, written by Bede, a fellow monk. Cuthbert is the patron saint of Northumbria and is celebrated for his compassion and dedication to the faith.
