Spotted Hyena
The spotted hyena is a large carnivorous mammal found primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. Known for its distinctive spotted coat, this species is highly social and lives in groups called clans, which can consist of up to 80 individuals. Spotted hyenas are skilled hunters and scavengers, often working together to hunt prey or steal from other predators.
These animals are known for their unique vocalizations, often referred to as "laughs," which serve as communication within the clan. Spotted hyenas have strong jaws and teeth, allowing them to crush bones and consume a wide variety of food. Their adaptability makes them successful in various habitats, from savannas to grasslands.
