Soviet Councils
Soviet Councils, known as Soviets, were local governing bodies in the former Soviet Union. Established after the 1917 October Revolution, they were intended to represent workers and peasants. Each council was made up of elected representatives who made decisions on local issues, such as economic planning and social services.
The structure of the Soviets ranged from local councils to the Supreme Soviet, which was the highest legislative body. They played a crucial role in the governance of the Soviet state, promoting the principles of Marxism-Leninism and facilitating the implementation of government policies at various levels.
