Southern Tang
The Southern Tang was a Chinese dynasty that existed from 937 to 975 AD during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It was founded by the Li family in the southern region of China, with its capital in Nanjing. The dynasty was known for its cultural achievements, particularly in poetry and painting, and it played a significant role in the development of southern Chinese identity.
The Southern Tang was characterized by its relatively stable governance compared to other contemporary states. It maintained a strong economy based on agriculture and trade, fostering connections with neighboring regions. The dynasty eventually fell to the Song Dynasty, which unified China under a single rule.
