Southern Command
Southern Command, officially known as U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), is a major unified command of the United States Armed Forces. It is responsible for military operations, security cooperation, and contingency planning in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Established in 1963, its headquarters is located in Miami, Florida.
SOUTHCOM's primary mission is to enhance regional security and stability through partnerships with nations in its area of responsibility.
