Unified Combatant Commands
Unified Combatant Commands are joint military commands that integrate forces from multiple branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. They are established to conduct operations across various regions or functional areas, ensuring a coordinated approach to national defense and military strategy.
There are currently eleven Unified Combatant Commands, each with a specific mission. For example, U.S. Central Command focuses on operations in the Middle East, while U.S. Special Operations Command oversees special operations forces. These commands enhance the effectiveness of military operations by promoting collaboration and resource sharing among different service branches.
