South African Fur Seal
The South African Fur Seal (*Arctocephalus pusillus*) is a marine mammal found along the coasts of southern Africa, particularly in Namibia and South Africa. These seals are known for their external ear flaps and thick fur, which helps them stay warm in cold waters. They typically weigh between 50 to 200 pounds and can grow up to 6.5 feet in length.
South African Fur Seals are social animals, often seen in large colonies on rocky shores and islands. They primarily feed on fish and squid, using their agility in the water to catch prey. Their population is currently stable, but they face threats from fishing activities and pollution.
