Sopwith Pup
The Sopwith Pup was a British single-seat biplane fighter aircraft used during World War I. Designed by the Sopwith Aviation Company, it first flew in 1916 and became known for its agility and speed. The Pup was powered by a Le Rhone 9J rotary engine, allowing it to reach a top speed of around 110 mph.
Equipped with a single synchronized machine gun, the Sopwith Pup was effective in dogfights against German aircraft. It served with various squadrons in the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service, contributing significantly to air superiority during the war.
