Soil Particles
Soil particles are the small pieces that make up soil, and they vary in size. The three main types of soil particles are sand, silt, and clay. Sand particles are the largest, providing good drainage, while silt particles are medium-sized and help retain moisture. Clay particles are the smallest and can hold nutrients but may lead to poor drainage.
The combination of these particles determines the soil's texture, which affects its ability to support plant growth. Healthy soil typically contains a mix of all three types, allowing it to retain water and nutrients while also providing adequate aeration for roots.
