Sohra
Sohra, also known as Cherrapunji, is a town in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is famous for being one of the wettest places on Earth, receiving heavy rainfall throughout the year. The region is characterized by lush green hills, stunning waterfalls, and rich biodiversity, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and tourists.
The town is situated at an elevation of about 1,484 meters (4,865 feet) above sea level and is part of the Khasi Hills range. Sohra is also known for its unique living root bridges, which are made from the roots of rubber trees and are a testament to the ingenuity of the local Khasi people.
